For many years, the Patent and Registration Office has been organizing a number of international courses with support from Sida through ITP (International Training Programs) in intellectual property law. At several of these courses there have been Bhutanese participants. In 2018, three participants joined, and last winter another two, from the Jigme Namgyel Engineering College of Engineering in Dewathang (Samdrup Jongkhar), Hemlal Bhattarai, Dean of Research and Industrial Cooperation, and Bikram Chhetri, Deputy Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering.
